Tarrant County’s Popular Parent Pass® App Expands to Dallas County, Bringing Trusted Local Resources to Families

Building on its success in Tarrant County, the app created by The Best Place for Kids!® and over 100 local families is now available in Dallas County.

DALLAS, May 7, 2026— The Best Place for Kids!® is thrilled to announce the expansion of its successful Parent Pass® app to Dallas County, offering more DFW families a free, one-stop resource to access personalized tools, connections, and local events. Designed by parents, for parents, the app has already become a trusted resource for families in Tarrant County, where it launched in October 2022 and has since gained over 23,000 users and partnered with more than 160 community organizations. Now, due to increased demand, the app will be available for Dallas County families to connect with critical resources.

The Parent Pass app is a first-of-its-kind free platform that connects families to one another, to incredible local nonprofits and resources, and to free and low-cost events happening right in their neighborhoods, supporting children from birth through high school.  The app is designed to provide users with customized resources, activities, and event suggestions based on their child’s age, neighborhood, and family’s needs and interests, making it easier than ever for Dallas parents to get the support they need.

The app’s key features make it a valuable resource for parents and caregivers, serving as a hyper-local touchpoint for everything they need in one location:

  • Personalized home feed with custom recommendations based on each family’s profile, neighborhood, and children’s ages.

  • Daily local featured events aligned with children’s needs and interests.

  • Local resources like a child care finder, parenting help, mental health and wellness tools, at-home learning, and more.

  • 24/7 access to a Family Navigator phone line to guide parents through health care and social services referrals to ensure they received the services they need.

  • Favorites and reminders for resources and upcoming events.

  • Organized folders to save top recommendations for easy access.

  • Ability to connect with other local families.

“The expansion of Parent Pass into Dallas County is a major milestone for us,” said Sadie Funk, Director of Parent Pass. “Parent Pass was designed hand-in-hand with parents to make it easier to connect with the incredible resources available in our community. With this launch, we’re excited to bring Dallas families the same support that has already transformed the day-to-day lives of so many families in Tarrant County. Our goal is to create a stronger, more connected DFW community where every child can thrive.”

Parent Pass is set to celebrate its Dallas launch on May 17 during the KERA Kids Fest, held at the newly opened Halperin Park. Families can register for the free event at kera.org/kidsfest
